BART Travel Planner

Travel & Stays

We can’t wait to party with you! Since a lot of you will be flying in, here are a few tips so you don’t get stuck sleeping on a BART bench (please don’t).

Getting Around

You’ve got BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit), Lyft/Uber, and rental cars to get you from A to B.

Bay Area Airports

  • Oakland (OAK): The easiest option if you’re staying near the reception. You’ll be in Oakland or Berkeley in about 20 minutes by Uber/Lyft or BART. Think of it as “door to dance floor” speed.

  • San Francisco (SFO): Totally doable, but the BART ride into Oakland is almost an hour. If you’re coming in during rush hour, you’ll be cozy with a few hundred of your newest friends.

  • San Jose (SJC): Yeeeaah, no.

Where to Stay
Our ceremony is at San Francisco City Hall, but the real late-night fun (aka the reception) is in Oakland. To make life easier, we strongly recommend staying in Oakland or Berkeley. We’ve pulled together a list of hotels and rentals in low, medium, and “treat yourself” ranges. Of course, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can absolutely go rogue and find your own spot.

    • Saul’s Restaurant & Delicatessen – A long-time Berkeley deli with bagels, lox, and traditional Jewish comfort food.

    • Tanzie’s – Thai breakfast and brunch spot in Oakland with dishes like rice porridge and curries alongside coffee and pastries.

    • Fava – Casual East Bay spot specializing in falafel, hummus, and other Mediterranean staples.

    • Viks Chaat – Popular counter-service place in Berkeley serving classic Indian street food.

    • Doña – Modern Mexican with tacos, rice bowls, and margaritas.

    • Café Colucci – Ethiopian food in Oakland, great for sharing platters and stews with injera.

    • Ramen Shop – Seasonal ramen with a Bay Area spin, plus cocktails and small plates.

    • Burdell – Oakland restaurant focused on Southern-inspired cooking that’s received national attention.

    • Sobre Mesa – Afro-Latino cocktail lounge in Oakland with small plates. Fun fact: the groom did the buildout and design.
